looks really good. Did you use automotive paint? Single stage or base plus clear? Any recommendations?
I just removed all hardware I could, taped up everything real good and cleaned the surface with Alcohol. Prefer Acetone, but either will get rid of dirt and oil. Bought 4 cans of Apple red Krylon plus for plastic at Home Depot. Has a slight darker tint than Firecracker red. But pretty dahm close. Sprayed one coat, and let it dry for a couple hours. Hit it with a secomd coat, and gave it a few more hours.

What's up fellow Firecrackers! I had a scare today. I changed my order from a Sport to a Sahara, but ALMOST changed my order color to Granite Crystal. It's always been a toss up of those two. It literally came down to within 15 minutes at the dealership. I walked by the vehicles on the lot and on showroom, and the Granite, though very nice, just blended in with all the other monotone vehicles of whites, grays, silvers, blacks, etc. And the Red one, just popped out. Sure, the showroom Sahara they had was Granite and looked great, but that was under lights, etc... The Red didn't need all that to stand out. I think the Red fits the character of the vehicle itself (fun, lively, etc.) and of myself as well. So, I went with RED again! :)

Problem is, I'll negate my D1 status, and start over. Ugh. Probably won't be till July now before I get her.

Anyways, thanks to all you Firecrackers for keeping this thread alive - I searched through it (again) heavily over the weekend to solidify my decision.

Here's my virtual Jeep, and my real build sheet.

Hi All,

Noobs here. I bought a red JLU Sport S for my wife last weekend. We immediately went for a drive in the Rockies the next day and we immediately got a chip in the windshield too. Fun times. $30 to get the chip repaired, so no biggie. The Jeep certainly looks better than her Outback.

I have to admit, I really like it. I’m might get a JK or a Scrambler for myself when the lease is up on my Jag.

It came! More pics to come when the weather gets nicer (late April snow here in CO)
Yea, I expected some snow today but that was a surprising amount. Fortunately the roads are too warm for it to stick to them.

Went out doing my favorite pastime.. wheeling my Jeep and scouting for archery season.... lots of wildlife in the gorgeous Oregon Coast range and of course viewing my favorite Roosevelt elk!!. Was actually surprised by how well the KO2’s did in the mud... went down one deep rutted red clay road that required lockers and definitely used the skid plates....good day!! I did expect a lot more mud on it....time to buff some pin stripes...

Nice! I've been waiting to see the painted roof/black fender combo. Looks great, need to see more shots!

Had a snow storm yesterday, but nice today... I like the all red look, but I’m really happy with painted roof/black fenders. Breaks up the color nicely.

Yep, just what we ordered! Hopefully less scuffed up fenders that way. Looks awesome! Now if FCA could figure out how to build/deliver them to customers, we would be enjoying the summer also!
