Just as the title suggests. Many people mount their extinguisher on the roll bars but the soft top utilizes that rear roll bar area for the mounting brackets. Any other creative ideas for a 2.5lb extinguisher? Not interested in the element for now.

I guess it depends on your soft top. I have the Mopar twill top on my 2d JL Rubi, and mounted a 2.5lb extinguisher on the roll bar with no problem using velcro and zip ties. It doesn't interfere with the top at all.

Any pictures?

I have a Bartac mount on the back roll bar with the stock soft top and it does not block the top going up or down.

How sturdy is it? Would you be able to take a photo with the top lowered?

This wasn't a picture intended to highlight the extinguisher but you can see the upper part.

It's raining pretty hard now, and the forecast for the next several days tells me it will be a while before I lower the top again. But I'll try to grab a better pic eventually.

Interesting. The 4 door seems to be a bit different with the mounting location. @davewald

It is very sturdy. I used the mount that came with the extinguisher, taped some rubber lining to the back, and cinched it down with zip ties. I also taped rubber to the front of the mount to reduce rattle. It's not yet top down season here. The weather guessers are saying maybe the middle of next week. If so, I'll update with a pic.
