Financing / Ordering Question

I've always purchases off the lots in the past . How does the financing work when ordering? Do you put money down to order or do they do all the paperwork when you order just like it would be on the lot?
Or do you fill everything out when it is delivered ?

The way it worked for me was...I put a deposit down on the order ($500) and ordered my JL. Financing will happen when the JL gets here...my rub is...since it is taking SO long to get my 2-door JL, interest rates will change by the time it finally gets here...and I may not get as good of a rate as I had back in February when I ordered.
