I open the tailgate and then the whole family grunts and shoves the gigantic fob out the back like a boulder. I drop into 4 low and climb it with the front wheel so we can park full flex at the mall.

FCA slapped a truck box on a JLU and called it gladiator so you could drive around with the fob in the back. A couple months of that you will look like a gladiator too.

I like to do arm curls with my fob in the driveway while the wife is gardening and see if I can impress her.
She’d probably be more impressed if you took off your gym gloves while working out.

Lol it looks just as big as the stock one IMO.

I personally don’t care but it sounds like people want a very small one. So if this company wants to succeed in sales, they’ll have to fabricate just that, a much smaller fob and one that is visually smaller in comparison. This isn’t it.

If you are going to solve a problem, solve it. This doesn't look like it solves anything, other than separating someone from their money. This looks like a comparable size to the original fob. With sharper edges, which may dig into your leg, it looks like it could be much more uncomfortable in you pocket. And cheap buttons. Can't even use the cup holder/key holder (not sure who uses it anyway). Looks like a cheap toy. If this is a prototype, they certainly have some work ahead of them.

And for all of the complaining I hear about the key fobs size, it isn't that much different than my Acura.

Has anyone tried grinding down the button that makes the key pop out - so it sticks out a bit less? I have done this with other things and had success. The one thing I don't know is how hollow this button is. If I grind it down a bit, I don't want it to look like a donut and/or stop working if it ends up being mostly hollow. Has anyone disassembled these yet to look?

@Jebiruph tore it apart in this thread - https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/fob-key-detension.15896/.
Can't tell from the pics if the button is hollow but he might know.

I don't remember and don't have any pics that show it. Realize that it's not the button getting pushed that's the problem, it's the key popping out. Once you take most of the tension out of the spring, the key will not be able to open in your pocket. Leaving a little tension in the spring will still allow it to open enough to use the key.

Looks like the button is hollow, given the length of the spring. Grinding it would be a bad idea in this case. I will instead try what he did!!

I hated that too. Used a strip of duct tape for a while, then upgraded to a fob holster from Gibson Leatherworks.
I wedged a piece of a zip tie in there. Problem solved.

I had a set of AJT fobs for my old Tacoma, they were excellent quality. Obviously, styling may not be for everyone. The prototype fob, solves the key stabbing me in my pocket problem. I'm happy that the fob is not as wide as the OEM one. My guess is there will be many different color options, they tend to offer colors that closely match OEM paint colors for that make and model the fob is intended for.

What is it with these car makers these days? These dang fobs keep getting bigger and bigger. In our "key drawer", we have at least 6 separate vehicle fobs and multiples of them. They are progressively larger by year of manufacture.
