So if money is not your hang up, go JLUR XR with the SOT top. I can’t recommend it highly enough. We’ve had ours for a month and it’s probably the best vehicle, for what it does, that I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned a lot of different vehicles.

If you never go anywhere major off road, who cares, the JLUR XR looks bad coming right out of the gate. I’ve taken mine into to what I would consider the lower level off reading, and it was a blast. Never even once felt like I was going to get stranded. Would a lower level Jeep have handled it, maybe, but I didn’t have to worry about it. At one point I thought I was going to have some water coming inside but I made it through the moving water without incident.

Ultimately buy what you want and drive it to Walmart if that is what makes your day. We love our JLUR XR and I can’t see buying a Jeep with less. I’ve spent more money on things that were less fun.
Thanks for your support lol! My husband is driving the Rubicon choice..I want the XR because of the 35” tires. I love the look and capability but prefer to keep my vehicles more stock. It’s true I don’t need it built that well…but if I ever need it I’ll have it. Of course z I’d prefer to save money, but I also want to get what I like and will be happy with.

Why not just buy 35" tires? It'll cost less.

Not if you're just doing forest service roads. It's like buying a Ferrari as a daily driver, not a good price for what it is, a commuter car.

Now, if you just want it, ok.

Anyway, the steel bumper is nicer than the plastic bumper, but there are cheaper ways to get a steel bumper.

Just put a Rubicon steel bumper on my JL Willys. Love it's looks, and the fact that it's winch capable. Yes, more costly than aftermarket, but fit & finish can't be beat. I never found an aftermarket front bumper that was as appealing to me as the OEM steel, and the install? Perfection!

+1 for Hothead Headliners! Installed one in my hardtop, and definitely noticed a difference in sound & temp. Much, much better quality, and considerably more substantial than the OEM Mopar Jeep headliner. Definitely recommended for a nice finished look to the inside of your hard top.

Buy what you want and like. It's for you not anyone else. If you like it go for it. If you ever need it you got it.

Exactly! Order placed today. I did not get the headliner, but did get the steel bumpers.

December is a long ways off…can’t wait!!

Thanks for the review. I did not get the factory headliner, salesman said it’s one of the things that may delay it..I’ll eval for the Hothead or a different aftermarket when I get it. Thanks for the response!

Congrats on your order!

I chose the steel bumpers because they‘re lighter than the aftermarket steel options and cheaper than aluminum options (at least when I ordered mine). I like it in stubby mode:
