I don't understand mounting electronics under the seat. I have had this happen a couple times, and I don't think the radio would fair well.
In my case, it’s a convenient place to put it that is out of sight. Conversely, I don’t tend to go places where I plunge into seat deep water. There are certainly plenty of other places to put it and if I find my destinations are going to result in water in the cabin, I’ll move the radio.

I agree. Probably the main and ONLY reason why wranglers do not come equipped with power seats.

Nice install. But it seems more complicated than necessary. I used a Comet hood GMRS NMO mount that is held on by tension screws to the hood, and fed the cable through the factory rubber grommet in the firewall - located under the brake booster and where the clutch pedal would go if you had a manual instead of the auto. Just needed to drill a small hole through the grommet and feed the cable through and seal with RTV sealant, and run it to your GMRS receiver (I installed mine in the glove box next to a Uniden CB brain box.

That grommet is a good option but for those of us with manual, since we can't use it, is there any other easier option through the firewall or I should go the OP way?
