Is FCA testing a radical raw Wrangler model?!

Jeep engineers were just spotted testing this radical, raw JL Wrangler set-up as an extreme, open-air rock crawler, on the company’s Auburn Hills Test Track.

Seems like it's a portable/extra strength fuel tank. Kinda like they use on off road rally trucks and some power boats.

Makes you wonder why an external fuel tank.
...

Correct me if I assumed wrong.

They gotta compete vs Bronco Rock Monster model, competition is gonna be great and fun to watch.[/ATTACH]
That's funny. The Bronco won't be able to compete with the standard Rubicon from the intel that is out.

I wonder if we aren't seeing a prototype of Jeep testing the market for a non street legal Wrangler. Perhaps they are trying to protect their trademark against Mahindra by directly competing against it in that market.
Very little real intel out, we do know they are planning a "rock monster" and its selling into same market. Its going to be competing for sales. Obviously a die hard Jeep guy is not gonna buy Ford, and a die hard Ford guy is not gonna buy Jeep. All we want is for them to push each other to get quality, pring and features all going crazy!

I am counting on Jeep to rise up, and continue to dominate... or if they flop and end up being a Chinese owned company, thank god I can buy an american made bronco.

Anyways fun stuff

The exhaust question, fuel tank, radiator, thinking it's an electric, the lighter 2 door, stripped down, might be the Test Mule for this. Hope so...

I think this is the Fuel Safe System installed:

https://fuelsafe.com/ed-fcst/

"Built from high strength molded “rubber” components, the Enduro Cell® is a favorite with off road racers and circle track teams. Designed for use with all hydrocarbon fuels, E85 blends and alcohol (alcohol use requires the removal of foam baffling), the Enduro Cell® line of fuel cells from Fuel Safe® delivers excellent performance at a great price."

FCA should have tied into the "Lite Brite" channel...This, to see the JL in extreme action for one year...BTW, gotta love Britney, and Belly Jelly...

Man those rear coilover mounts are pretty low.

My guess is its some level of testing of the hybrid for offroad applications because even though it has a fuel cell, that "brick" up front doesnt look like a standard radiator.
The passenger logging does give it away.
