How about they push the previous version?

How does it get an update over the air? Is it through the guardian service, or does it borrow web access from a connected phone?

As far as I know having Uconnect in my 2015 Challenger, more basic audio/uconnect only updates can be downloaded from uconnect site and uploaded via thumbnail drive. More crucial updates must be done/flashed by the dealer

The most recent grand cherokee update, which was a $*&^show in its own right, was over the air via the Uconnect cellular connection.

For those that are having this issue try this and your Radio "may" work - when the screen does come up, press NAV, then WHERE TO, then FAVORITES, leave it on that screen and your radio should work and the system should not reboot. I tried this for about 15 minutes this morning and the radio stayed on the whole time. I didn't have time to try anything else, had to get on the train.

Hope this works for other people until this is actually fixed

We have followed up on other threads regarding this. However, for anyone who hasn't already saw out post, we are aware of the radio reboot concern that is affecting our customers. We are working hard to find the root cause of this. If you have not already reached out to our customer care teams on this, please call 1-877- IAM-JEEP (1-877-426-5337), or send us a private message so we can be sure to document this further.

Thanks Julie. I am not affected, but am wondering why they don't just push the previous version to back out the "upgrade" to restore service and then troubleshoot the issue with QA?

Sometimes backing out a set of changes can cause more problems. More importantly, they probably deliver a patch, not a complete system, so at a minimum they have to generate a new patch that backs out the last set of changes, not just redeploy the previous one.

This does hopefully give them incentive to implement a checkpoint system so that they can allow the user to revert to the pre-patch version (or do it automatically, remotely).
