Can someone 'splain me why the Alfa Romen Giulia has 15 different engines?

Different markets with their varying emissions requirements and tax breaks/classifications.

Plus torque limiting/detuning for manual transmissions (though the 2.9L seems the same between AT & MT, just CO2 and MPG are diff).

Also, likely PR/marketing artificial performance classes, like many other companies.
