FATAL HIT & RUN CRASH - SEEKING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE:

On July 4, 2020 between 7:30-7:45 PM, a pedestrian was struck and killed in the area of 2000 Redding Road.

The responsible vehicle is described as a Green Jeep Wrangler with its top off and doors on with a large American Flag flying from the rear of the vehicle. It was last seen traveling north bound on Redding Rd at a high rate of speed.

The deceased pedestrian is a 32 year old female from Pennsylvania who was visiting family in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at (203) 254-4800.

Wow, that's some serious misinformation to have presented as FACT. Whoever reported the " green jeep" needs to review journalism basics.

Wow, that's some serious misinformation to have presented as FACT. Whoever reported the " green jeep" needs to review journalism basics.
Well, it's not bad journalism or even misinformation, it's an eyewitnesses who walked up the road and found a woman dying in the street and she named the last vehicle they saw go by (the Jeep). After reviewing the cameras the PD apparently concluded that the Jeep came along after the white Ram hit the woman. So the eyewitness did the best she could. Not everything is fake news/bad journalism.

FAIRFIELD — A 22-year-old Easton man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that killed a Pennsylvania woman out walking her dog, according to police.
Fairfield Police Department Chief Christopher Lyddy said Delcan P. Kot has been charged with allegedly striking and killing Marileidy Morel Araujo, a 32-year-old from of Matamoras, Pa.
Kot is a firefighter with Easton Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1, according to the company’s website. A person named Declan Kot is also listed as a constable on Easton’s wesbite. According to Kot’s Linkedin, he is the owner of Black Duck Landscapes LLC and an accounting student at Sacred Heart University.
Lyddy said Kot has been charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle, evading responsibility in operating a motor vehicle resulting in death, failure to drive in proper lane, operating a motor vehicle without fenders, tampering with evidence, operation of a motor vehicle with tinted windows without tinting sticker and operation of vehicle with tinted windshield.
