I am upgrading the stock suspension on my JLUR 2018 3.6L, going for 3.5" lift and installing beadlocks and 37" tires to improve the performance of the vehicle off-road but also hope for good on-road experience. I will be potentially doing also some overland trips.
I did a lot of research and I understand I am opening the Pandora box here, but I am having really hard time to pick which route to go in terms of shocks.
As I see it I have the following choices:
1) FALCON SP2 3.5 ADAPT E-ADJUST PIGGYBACK SHOCKS
PROS:
a) SP2 adjust allows to choose between soft and hard piston valving during installation
b) electronically adjustable
c) adaptive electronical adjustability based on G sensor
CONS:
a) might be too harsh on-road even in soft SP2 setting
b) lack of dual adjusters (compared to FOX DSC)
c) haven't been around that long
d) only serviceable by Falcon (I am not 100% sure of that but it is what I read)
2) FOX PERFORMANCE ELITE 2.5 RESERVOIR DSC ADJUSTERS
PROS:
a) dual compression adjusters - low and high speed (could potentially be tweaked to provide better experience in various conditions)
b) easily serviceable by different vendors
c) well known, widely used and well tested
CONS:
a) lack of electronical adjustability (compared to Falcon)
b) pricey
3) KING 2.5 WITH ADJUSTERS
PROS:
a) customizable with various configuration options
b) easily serviceable by different vendors
c) well known, widely used and well tested
d) can be purchased with EVO ENFORCER PLUS lift kit customized to EVO spec
CONS:
a) lack of dual adjusters (compared to FOX DSC)
b) lack of electronical adjustability (compared to Falcon)
Can you guys please share your personal experience and opinions?
Happy Holidays!
