Went up the hill today to check some clearance.
2.5” RC lift 37” BFG KO2 Stock wheels. I turned the steering stops 2 turns each side.
Looks like I need about 1” of bumpstop in the rear but everything else clears just fine. I’m really happy
I can keep my wheels without any spacers. This JL turns so tight it seems better than my JK did. I couldn’t even tell I turned the bolts out. Some pics. All pics the Jeep was on the bumpstops and fully cranked to each stop.

Awesome, thanks for sharing!! I made a thread not too long ago asking if anyone was running 37s on stock wheels without spacers. I'm glad you were able to confirm!!

Didn't the RC lift come with bumpstops or do you need additional ones??
It did but with 37s in the rear it’s just barely touching on the backside of the rear tire in the wheel well plastic. Now I’m sure I could leave it alone but another little bit of Bumpstop won’t hurt.

Thanks for sharing this. I’d like to keep the factory wheels too. This is great info. Your Jeep looks great, wasn’t a huge fan of the upgraded wheels but it works on most the more I see them. Also, leaving the white letters out is something you don’t see much lately. My Firecracker Rubicon might be in this week.

Thank you. I paid for those white letters so I’ll be damned if I can’t see them. Lol. Also one thing to take into consideration is there are all different types of tires with completely different measurements so not all results will be the same.

Thank you!!... Now I see the rear bumpstop extension... I agree 0.5"-1" additional bumpstop will keep the flares safe...

In those pictures the internal sidewall of the tire looks very close to the rear shock, any rubbing??

Are the steer stops on the JL similar to the JK? What size washer(s) did you use?

You can use washers or not. Mine are pretty tight. I haven’t used any. I have checked them. If they start to move I’ll look into it then. I can’t move them by hand.

How did you move you steer stop bolts outward and tighten without taking up the space? Is the JL steer stop different than the JK? I had to remove the bolt and put a 3/8 washer on it to take up the space on the JK or else the bolt would never be tight.

I didn’t tighten them down. The threads are really tight so I really see no need to add washers and tighten. I will check them and see but I don’t see them going anywhere. I have never put washers in them. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. This is just my experience.

I am guessing this is only applicable on Rubicon’s due to the wider axles as well, other trim levels will require lift and spacers/new wheels....

This is great I was looking to go with 35s on the stock wheels but couldn't find anything out whether or not you needed wheel spacers or different wheels. This definitely will save some money indeed.
