I plan on doing either no doors or half doors at all times, instead of full doors. Why are 1/2 doors a thing on a vehicle that takes doors off?
Half-doors would be the first thing I'd cut. They add a lot to your order. I love the convenience of the Remote Key and appreciate the Safety Group. I bought off the lot, and found a Willys that had everything I wanted (2.0L, Safety, Technology and Advanced Safety). The only thing it didn't have that I wish had been included is the 8.4" screen. I use Apple CarPlay with Google Maps, and would have liked a larger screen for that. Depends on how much you use navigation and how bad your eyes are. Lose the Half Doors -- you can always add them later. Here's my dream Sport-S config ($42k):
https://www.jeep.com/bmo.wrangler.2...DA,TQJ,WF9,A7,UAQ,AEK,AJ1,AAN,RC4,AJB,GXD,22S
Upgrades include:
- half doors
- 8.4 in screen
- remote key
- safety group
Gun to your head, what features would you cut, given these two configs? Is there anything you got in this list that you're unhappy with?
Can you easily add OEM half doors later?Half-doors would be the first thing I'd cut. They add a lot to your order. I love the Remote Key and appreciate the Safety Group. And more costly to retrofit the beefier alternator and battery as well. If you think you’ll ever run high-draw accessories. If you think you might ever want to tow something (light, since you are looking at a 2 door) or might want the aux switches I would add the tow package. You'll kick yourself later if you decide to add either of those, because the installs are a pain.
I'd kind of second the diff as well, you get a little more aggressive tire and it helps for stuff like the beach (cue LSD hate).
