51 pounds.
Anyone know the weight limit of the stock tire carrier on the tailgate for warranty reasons? Only asking because I had 35"s on my JK and the spare tire mount bracket broke on some back country roads. Dealer said it wasn't covered due to the excess weight of the 35's vs the stock tires. Wondering if I need to spend another $1000 on the oversize tire carrier parts.

I can't remember the capacity, but I do remember reading that they beefed it up compared to the JK.

Were you at full flex with the swaybar disconnected?
Swaybar was disconnected
Can we get a shot of your rubicon from the front, or rear, to see how far the tires stick out from the flares? That would be a huge help. Thanks!
They don’t, yes, swaybar was disconnected, I was not at full flex, but had little room to spare.

This afternoon, I went out for an “errand”, and swung into a cleared out construction site and ripped around the mud for about 15 minutes. On the way back from said “errand” I stopped in again, this time I pushed the limits. Went down a very muddy, uneven trail, left side at least three feet higher than right. Got stuck for a moment, got a little anxiety, but once I put it in 4L, locked up and disconnected I maneuvered out of there as easy as pulling out of my garage. The 35 inch K02’s performed great, better than the A/Ts I had on my JK. These things are beast!

.

I believe the 33’s are on 18” Fuel Mavericks.

That definitely looks like it picked up some height with the mopar lift compared to my stock Rubicon with 35s
MBuck, thank you for posting this, i hope more guys will post Rubi's with 35"... i have to say, yours looks pretty good without a lift.. are you still going to add the 2" Mopar? Im either going 35's or 37's, but if i go 35's i might run them with out a lift for a while to see how i like it...

I think I am, although I do agree, the 35’s on a stock Rubicon are solid.

IMO, there are three 4-door configurations that proportionally look "stock."

Non-Rubicons with no lift and stock tires (duh!)

Non-Rubicons with MOPAR 2" lift and 35" tires.
This should be nice for those buying a Safari to get SelecTrac.

A Rubicon with no lift and 35" tires.
The Rubi just LOOKS like it was made for 35s from the factory

The configurations I think look like the tires are too small are:

A stock Rubicon with no lift and stock 33" tires
(with the higher fenders, it was made for 35s)

Non-Rubicons with MOPAR 2" lift and only 33" tires.

A Rubicon with MOPAR 2" lift and 35" tires (on 8.5" AEV wheels here).
(MOPAR lift looks probably closer to 1" on a Rubicon)

Of course, some may like the look of more gap between tire and fender, and the shocks in the 2" MOPAR lift sure appear to give the Rubicon nice articulation.

The 2" lift doesn't appear adequate for 37s, though.

37s (on 8.5" MOPAR wheels here) look right with a MOPAR 3" lift but

they won't fit on the stock tire carrier/rear bumper
and will definitely call for heavy tailgate hinges.

This is just how I see things... and in all cases, I'd run 35s or 37s on 8-1/2" wide MOPAR or AEV wheels that don't stick the tires outside the fenders for the Tonka Toy look.

I agree Moe, but I think I’m still going with the 2” mopar lift. I really like the stance of the mojito green JL at the LA show. I’m told it will give the Rubicon a full 2”, does anyone know otherwise??

I understand. It's hard to resist this: :)

Cross Jeep has this JLU Rubicon with 2" Mopar Performance Lift with Fox Shocks. 35" BFG ATKO2's on AEV Borah Wheels:

I think you may find with the additional height, you want the additional track of the AEV or MOPAR 8-1/2" wheels... or not.

I was under the impression the additional Rubicon height comes from higher spring rates... springs that will be replaced. [edit: but maybe it's from taller spring seats?] But maybe not.
