Properly installed mind you, with steps taken first to remove grease with lacquer thinner, what do people think about this product and the adhering properties of 3m VHB Tape? The Freedom Panels, once flipped open, are secured with hardware that attaches to the top of the hard top of the JLU and that incorporates use of a Freedom Panel's latch, or in the case of the Gladiator or JL, I think different hardware attached to the rear of the hard top.

I like that you can unscrew the hinges without removing them to store the hard top and Freedom panels separately.

These guys are on the hard top, kneeling on the freedom panels? I guess that whole assembly is much more sturdy than I realize.

Seems like a handy idea. I've used some 3M VHB in several applications before and it does hold very well. Although I seem to recall WD40 or maybe it was goo gone took it off though. So I do wonder if any chemicals used to wash the Jeep will impact it. My applications were also protected from UV rays so I don't know how that may impact it over time. But I bet it works for at least a reasonable amount of time with no issues and it would make opening the freedom panels easier. I would never buy it though. I really hate how it looks, tops open or closed. It would impact the lift system I use to remove my top. And it also removes the ability to run in my favorite top configuration which is freedom panels only. But for people who want the convenience of a sunrider at a lower price this looks like an option.

Tape? Nope not for me. Prob work ok for a while but after a month or two I'd be too paranoid to trust it lol.

I like the concept but it’s a little sketchy for me. Also, $400 for 3M tape and a couple of door hinges is ????

I'd really have a lot more confidence if the 3M tape implementation was battle and time tested. :)

I'm not saying by any means that it's dangerous. Certainly the holding power per square inch is over-engineered here on "day 14" of the installation. I'm just worried about "day 1,400."
