So I just has to use my extended warranty again. So here is the breakdown of my warranty to date.

Cost - $4000 7 year unlimited miles w/ $200 deductible

Work performed by dealer: (estimated cost by Service writer)

Incident 1:
Steering box replacement - $1700
Track Bar replacement - $300
Electrical issue - FIND and fix loose wire in wiring harness - est. $1200 based off hours
Test Radiator for leak - $100

Total: $3100 after deductible

Incident 2:
Driver Door Latch faulty - $650

Total: $450 after deductible

$4000 Warranty cost
- $3550 Estimated work performed
------------
$450 away from breaking even

I currently have 62000 miles on my 2018 JLUR and my warranty is good until June 2025.
At this point, I think it was a good investment. I imagine there will be other issues when I'm well over 100k miles and still under a warranty.

I didn't finance my warranty into the vehicle loan so that I was paying interest on the coverage.

Maybe you should have. Investments are doing well. Opportunity cost is often ignored.

these comments are so silly and unhelpful.
You might as well have said; "I'm upside down on my extended warranty but I hope my rig breaks more so I end up having "saved" money".

Well, its a Jeep built by Fiat.

Its not when if it breaks, its when it breaks. I also do more than just crawl through mall parking lots.

After talking to a Mopar extended warranty agent, I'm looking at $2,800 for 5 more years or 75,000 miles on a 2019 Wrangler with just under 15,000 miles on it. Does this sound like the normal price? It is $100 deductible and if you make no claims in the 5 years it is all refundable.

i jus used mine again for a radiator replacement. Because of the last two times I complained about low coolant, they waived the deductible.

Thank you falcon.
I guess my follow-up question would be, why is the Mopar warranty around $1000 more than the other factory warranties that are advertised?

so the way I read this if you wait until almost the end of your factory warranty and purchase the extended warranty, you are penalized for the prior time. in other words they start your warranty on the day you took delivery or signed a purchase order. so you are not getting the warranty for the stated period you are paying for?? unless I am missing something this is screwed up.

One thing people forget is that the warranty starts after your factory warranty ends, but is only good for the term specified.

So if you get a 5yr/75k miles extended warranty, you have your 3yr/36k mile warranty first then an additional 2yrs/39k miles after that expires. Whichever comes first.

So you're not paying for 5/75, you're paying for 2/39 :/
