I have my 2019 Jeep 2 door jl sport for a year now, I bought it certified, so I have a 7/100 on the powertrain, I was considering getting a bumper to bumper extended on it. $1585 to upgrade to 8/85k with a $100 deductible. This is from Chryslerwarrantydirect. Any input appreciated.

So, it's not really an 8/85, right? It's a 5/50 because the stock warranty has to run out first, then what's left is really the next 5/50k? It's not worth it.

Your warranty is only as good as your servicing dealer. If you trust your dealer, go for it. If you don’t, move on. Don’t waste your money.

Good luck.

Yes, it is. Unless you can fix things yourself. Just parts alone will kill 1500 dollars fast. Up to you though, to me better to have it and never use it then not have it and pay parts cost right now.

Also depends on your mileage use a year. If you have high mileage every year then not worth it. I am under 8k miles a year on my Wrangler

Every warranty ever made runs after your current warranty expires not sure why that is supposed to be a surprise or even news.

They wouldn't sell it unless it was profitable, which means it's worth it to the seller, but costs more than the value to the consumer.

Yes, but you have to shop around to get the best price for Mopar Care. I used mine today, paid my $100 ded on a new 8.4 radio. Old one de-laminated after 3/36.

I'm in a similar situation. My credit union offers a bumper to bumper for the following:

8 Year / 125k miles = $1,734.00

8 Year / 100k miles = $1,686.00

8 Year / 75k miles = $1,614.00

7 Year / 125k miles = $1,686.00

7 Year / 105k miles = $1,646.00

7 Year / 75k miles = $1,587.00

6 Year / 125k miles = $1,649.00

6 Year / 100k miles = $1,616.00

6 Year / 75k miles = $1,567.00

Will not cover after market parts though, makes sense. Will allow up to 8" lift and 35" wheels. I plan on a 2.5" with 35s so I'm good. I'm thinking about an 8 year 125k mile. Dealer offered me a 7 year 100k mile for $3900 lol

What brand does your CU sell?

AssureGuard Auto

I think it's different than when I worked there. I was a lender for 7 years. I bought the old one myself on an '06 Corolla XRS. I only bought it because the synchros were a known issue with this model. I think I paid $700-800 and got a $3200 transmission replacement.

Jeep wanted to sell me something for fewer miles and a shorter term for around $3900.

Thanks. I would like one that had unlimited time/miles. I'd be OK with a large deductible.

A bumper to bumper lifetime warranty?! That's gotta cost you like $8000 with a $500 deductible if it even exists.

The Mopar lifetime warranties are no longer offered as of Dec., 2018. Anyway, I would never buy a third party warranty due to so many complaints I've heard about them over the years. If I get one I would go Mopar MaxCare and not buy it from my local dealer until I've shopped around.

Tom Winkels saved me over $1,500 off what my dealer quoted me for the exact same Mopar extended warranty when we bought our 2013 JK. Anymore, I don't even bother with my local dealer's price, I just give Tom a call when I'm ready to buy.
