This is a good point, John. I was thinking about that when I hooked up my JLR to my Class C. The pins at the toad are 1in higher than the pin at my trailer hitch. Sounds like that might be close to ideal. The tow bar installation manual says to be within 3in from level up or down.

Thinking this through, if I go from 33s to 35s that extra inch should compensate for the additional mass, or even improve the return to center function. Thoughts?
On mine the tow bars run up from the RV to the Jeep. Iā€™ve backed mine (20 Sport S JL) up now a few times without issue, going slowly and making very gentle turns. My ECis 127 lbs. Very pleased with the performance of the unit!

Question for @Exact Center , or anyone else who's installed one of these. I received mine this week and installed it earlier today. I followed the install video they provided and it seemed to install fine, but after I was finished, I still had one bolt and two large tie-straps left over, neither of which were mentioned in the install video or the limited paperwork that came with the unit.

Just for a sanity check...where were these supposed to be used?

@Roadmaster

This looks like a great option for the pavement princesses, and the drag along jeeps, but not sure Iā€™d like it off roading. When Iā€™m navigating through obstacles, I donā€™t want to fight my steering wheel, I often take hands off the wheel for different reasons, when crawling.

I love my fox ATS stabilizer but my rig has a lot of articulation and when I get in an extreme flexed situation like this ā€¦..

Jeep Wrangler JL Exact Center is a steering stabilizer new for Jeeps 1656213298674
the track bar and the ss reservoir fight over the same spot.

If this was serviceable and adjustable, plus be able to ride high and tight out of harms way as others have mentioned, then Iā€™d take a hard look at it. Probably get oneā€¦ā€¦.just some .02 from a different perspectiveā€¦ā€¦.

PSā€¦.. I love the fact youā€™re here( USA) and make your own shit, thatā€™s awesomeā€¦..so hurry and make something I can useā€¦ā€¦..šŸ˜
Has anyone used this off road? Does it hinder off road performance? It is a fight with steering returning to center?

Thanks

Yep, just ran two Badge of Honor trails yesterday. The second trail I had no business being on with no lift and stock 33s.

No change in handling on the highway drive home. Note that my OEM stabilizer was not installed as some have both on. I may put the OEM and compare with/without at some point but very happy with its performance on and off road and towing it.

I'm not sure why the extra bolt, but those cable ties are for the ends of the EC rubber boot. After adjusting the EC for proper centering stretch and straighten the boot into position and install a cable tie at each end.

Another test drive of Super C RV with Exact Center (now have over 10000 miles with EC installed)
Took the RV out again, left Friday morning and when North across the bridge to the UP and then worked the way West across Michigan stopped at Bay Mills Casino on Lake Superior then headed West to ward Marquette, but road construction turned me South and then West again. We stopped at Island Casino for the night. Had one heck of a good burger at The Sports bar build your own and added a nice slice of Brisket to my $6.00 burger for $2.00 a hunk of Provolone cheese making just about the perfect burger for under $10.00. The beef was 8 ounces and very good. It is a meal.
Next morning went West to the Porcupine Mountains in light rain. Had not been there in 40-plus years, but did enjoy the video, but did miss the video wall they had before that had maybe 20 screens. The workers had no idea what I was talking about.
From there in light rain, we went to Sugar Camp Wi to our favorite Restaraunt ever for grilled Islandic haddock. better than steak or Lobster, but you have to learn for yourself.
Spent the night at the Lake of Torches Casino parking lot, In LacDu Flambow did not even go inside. We wanted to go to Paul Bunyon's for Sunday morning breakfast but like many places, we saw in Wisconsin and Michigan they seem to be out of business. They had help problems and I think it killed a very old good business. We found a good breakfast at Perkins and started back. We made island Casino at about 2 pm and I enjoyed another great burger. This time Eastbound on rt 2 following Lake Michigan shoreline the wind picked up a lot. The 340 lb Exact Center made the wind a non-thing. On the Mackinaw Bridge, they had a 20 mph limit on RVs and trucks with trailers. There were reported 72 mph gusts. when I passed openings in the guard rail I did get a good shove, but EC handled it all. Winds continued to be felt even far south on I-75, however, EC had full control with no excitement.
Today I drove the WRX to work again on I75 and it is still very windy. Driving the WRX for the last three weeks made my first 100 miles or so in the RV a challenge to stop over steering. The WRX is as close to a Race car as anything I have owned, so a change to an RV even a good driving RV took a bit to get the steering feel right. Our Super C about 20K GVWR on a Ram 5500 4WD chassis with 340 lb Exact Center is a very good driver that almost makes the wind a non-issue. We will look for improvements, but I must say they are getting harder to find, the thing is very good. Gram by the RV at the Porkies . There were almost no travlers anywhere across michigan a Wisconsin. The country is suffering. We were the only unit in the oversize lot at 1:00 Sunday and there were 2-3 cars in the regular lot. There were room for 20-30 RVs and hundreds of cars,
RV has the Cermanic coating and it seems to rain keeps it looking good. JL is home napping.

A couple of developments today... first, on the way to RM (Roadmaster) in Vancouver WA, I drove the class A motorhome while my wife followed behind in the 2021 JLU that was fitted with a 110 PSI EC. About 6 miles before reaching RM we traveled on a terrible potholed portion of the freeway and I soon received a call from her that she had pulled off of the freeway due to a terrible death wobble... this is a first for this Jeep with 11,000 miles on it. She was terrified to say the least. The wobble started when she was travelling about 60 MPH. She recovered and drove the rest of the way to RM. We mentioned this to RM and they changed the EC to 140 PSI for no charge.
Second, RM installed the 300 PSI EC on the 2020 Class A F53 7.3L V8 26,000 GVWR 36' motorhome. We then hooked up the JLU TOAD and drove about 130 miles; 100 on freeway and 30 on curvy mountain road. Both ECs performed incredibly well on this drive. The 300 PSI on the motorhome is pulling some to the right and will need a further adjustment. That aside, the improvement was remarkable, especially on the curvy mountain road. It is hard to explain, but it just cornered and handled so much better. I've driven this same road several times before and this time was just so much easier. I wasn't constantly correcting the steering wheel and instead just directed it around the corners, and this was at 55-65 MPH most of the way. We recorded a few videos and will try to get them posted later in the week.
We are still concerned about that death wobble and will need to get all of the front end checked out; after some of the terrible roads we've towed the jeep on, I wouldn't be too surprised if some joints are a bit loose (disappointing though). Remember, this is a stock JLU sport - no lift and no oversized tires.
Following are three videos for impression of EC on our motorhome and Jeep both... if you have time to watch only one, the second video would be best:

This is our first trip with the 300 PSI EC on our 36' Class A 2021 Tiffin Open Road 34PA with Ford F53 chassis; towing 2021 JLU Wrangler Sport S with 140 PSI EC; total weight 29,500 lbs. Traveling uphill on highway 58 in Oregon from Eugene to Westfir.

Thanks for sharing. Do get it dialed in. The adjustments will be much more than the single flat adjustments you made on the JL. If you have a strong pull (would cause you to cross over center in 400 feet or less) do 4 flat adjustment. If 800 feet do 2 flats. if farther do 1 flat. I know on my coach 32 foot Super C on a Ram 5500 HD it took much more than the JL to make a difference. My son Todd says the Linkage is longer so the adjustments do less so bigger adjustments are needed. I suspect yours will be similar. Adjustments take time and effort so I think it is better to do bigger first to get to where you have gone too far. On mine I think I had Todd do 6 or 7 maybe more. I should have done bigger right away. If the pull reverses you will learn where to go back to. Tell us what you learn. I would suggest a big parking lot till you get close, then some highway time.
The more time you spend behind the wheel will just make the whole experience that much better. I did over 1000 miles Friday through Sunday and my 340 LB EC never saw a wind it could not handle. The Mackinaw bridge 5 miles long had 35 mph sustained winds with recorded 72 mph gusts. There was a 20mph limit on RVs and Trucks. I guess I missed it was for RVs too and I was doing 45mph all the way across, which is normal speed limit on non-windy days. I guess I should have known as I went past a opening in exterior guard rail it felt like we were hit broadside. Still it was a boom but did not change my steering. I knew it was windy as it was most of the way across RT 2 that follows the top of Lake Michigan.
Tell us what you learn about the wind and wind canceling. It should cut down on over steer.

I know those comments were early and since you like what you have learned. But like me you tried maybe 4 different pressure ECs and if you experience is like mine the steering effort did not change enough to notice going from 100 to 120 and then for me 135 psi. There is just not a heavy feel in the steering wheel. many others have said on some Jeeps especially Diesel our 140 EC was lighter feeling than the stock factory unit.
On my RV I did 150, 220, 300, 400, and 340 now. There was no increase in steering wheel pressure I could feel. My RV does have a massive power steering system so I expected no change. On the JL I was as surprised as you that I could not feel anything different, but for sure I can feel and see the wind and things that try to turn my steered wheels have been stopped.
On my RV I do cancel the wind affect.

Thanks John... I did get it adjusted in. I did go more aggressive with turns than on JL because I wanted to make sure I was going in the right direction... that worked well for me... it is easy for me to get confused about which direction makes it longer or shorter when lying on my back underneath. When adjusting I thought the two U-bolts were rotating on the tie rod but after removing one of the nuts I realized the tie rod can rotate slightly, so it all worked out. I had to wrestle a bit with the boot to get is straightened into position and then added cable ties.
So, I think we're good to go, but are kind of in a holding pattern through the rest of summer due to high gasoline prices, and extra expenses we endured as a result of our breakdown in AZ back in April. I'll have to report back in the fall.
Also, I need some time to get the front end of the JL checked out and fixed if need be, for that death wobble we experienced last week.
I am impressed with the results so far and recommend EC to those who want to give it a try.
