You speak as if you're running a coal burning JEEP but you're half on board the EV train with the 4Xe you're driving.?
Do you have lots of Exxon stock? Let the market decide...
Oil companies and the owners of them have gotten more tax breaks than any other industry known to man.
The market isn't deciding when the government is banning gas vehicles, then penalizing gas while subsidizing electric, and worse the subsidy money isn't providing any real value to the tax payer.

Banning gas vehicles should really be read as banning people from owning private cars.

I've driven a BMWi3, a Model3 long range and a polestar. No, I still don't like them. Too many reasons to list.
Anything to add about the Polestar - I haven't driven that one, or most of the others, but would love to know what you thought of that one.

And, if you're still typing, maybe just a synopsis of why you don't like them, would LOVE to know.

Just looking at that dumbasses face on the clickbait still means the video is not worth watching
I didn't care to watch the video, but the EV market is indeed stalling out big time. Used EV prices are a hard judge as almost all new EV purchases are seeing 7500-20000 in incentives depending on the vehicle. EVs in general tank in price, and the incentives just tank the price further.

The 4XE will be practically worthless once the 10 year battery warranty expires

EVs are only gaining market share. The automotive market is what has tanked due to inflation and high interest rates. You can't have tunnel vision and look at EV sales alone while ignoring the rest of the market. Incentives? How about the $20,000 off Jeeps? lol.

I think the 4xe would be a great buy years down the road once the current owners (myself included) take the initial hit. The ice on the 4xes may only have half the mileage on its engine than what the dash says. A 100,000 mile 4xe might actually only have 30,000 - 60,000 miles of wear on it's 2.0 t. I'd take that any day over a 100,000 mile regular 2.0 t as long as the price difference is small.

He's not wrong on many points. EV is NOT green in the sense that all the pundits want you to think. It also matters a lot how the power is generated to power them. They are way behind the curve for carbon footprint when they are produced. The only way to get them to be lower emission, is if the power is coming from a renewable source that doesn't create more carbon to make, and has a long life itself. Pretty much nuclear at this point.

The batteries are designed for 8-10 years to half capacity. So far, they seem to be holding up to the designed life, we're a max of 6 years in on the ones I work on. When the power pack needs to be replaced, the expense is high for a hybrid, and over half the car price of a BEV. Plus, a great deal of the carbon footprint again. The ICE should go 200,000+ miles. The BEV will not make it there without a battery replacement, which is like a complete powertrain replacement for cost. At this point, our hybrid batteries were around $16-18K last I checked, and the BEV is over $30K. The Hybrids are similar to the 4Xe at around 20 miles of range, long range hybrids are supposed to be 31-49 according to the recently released specs (new stuff I work on) and the BEV is around 200.

When taken as a whole, electric cars have a long way to go to be "clean". They also cannot be produced for anything close to the price of an ICE vehicle. They have to offer tax incentives and subsidize the tech, because it's expensive. They have to use taxpayer funds from everyone to build a delivery system. The whole industry is hugely subsidized.

I'm not a fan boy one way or the other, I'd love to see the electric cars be a great option. But the math for "green" isn't about emissions, it's about someone making bank off of integrating new tech and all the money it makes for building, installing and integrating the charging infrastructure. A lot of the "cost" for electric cars is not visible to most people, they just see nothing coming out of an exhaust and assume they're helping the environment.
I have a 4xe. I hate to say it but I agree everything you said, except the cost of the battery. Its not 16k. Its 3-5K. Mine has a 10 year free replacement free install. I am contemplating the 2025 4runner hybrid mainly because I'm getting old and our seats suck. And no power? Christ. You all know that too. We gotta make the wrangler more comfortable. I've had 4. When I was 25 I didn't care. Now that I'm 60, its a big deal. Still driving it though. Maybe some new seat covers??
