The Wrangler was never a comparatively safe vehicle. Ever.
Some folks reject objective, fact-based, organized tests that repeatedly produce this result. They insist that there’s some nefarious conspiracy afoot to make Wranglers look bad.
Nope.
Others are setting aside the Euro results hoping that IIHS will have a more favorable review. If they give it 2-stars, such folks might breathe a sigh of relief: “It’s twice as good as the Euro’s say it is!”
There is no conspiracy afoot. If you opt to reject objective tests in favor of what some dude in a forum said about this one crash he was in, ... that’s a choice.
But don’t be hesitant to cross the Wrangler off your shopping list due to its poor safety performance.
