Has anyone experience with the 2020 Etorque 4WD 2.0L Turbo HEV DOHC 4cyl engine or similar that there car is not starting. Car battery was replaced. But after a few weeks, the car didn't start again. I didn't really know the engine type since it is my wife car, and when I go pop the hood to do my test. I see it doesn't have an alternator. The car if you jump started turns right away. So here I am looking trying to figure out what might cause this car not start even after replacing the batteries. My next step is check fuses or starter. But man, how is this even possible for a car to begin having this issues.

I was going to take it to the dealership, but warranty expired. I am trying to fix the problem, but I never worked on an engine like this. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

No answers for you but trying to help diagnose.

When you say "car does not start" does that mean:

1. When you press the Start Button nothing happens?
2. Pressing the Start Button causes the engine to crank but not catch?

The fact that the engine starts when you jump it suggests that it is battery/charge related.

Yes, check:
  1. That the fuses are seated all the way down
  2. That the battery is charging. There are recorded instances of JLs where the charging system/charging harness was defective
This being a mild hybrid system, have you checked if your electrical system has a longer warranty? That’s the case with 4Xe.

Good luck.

Answering the questions.
No answers for you but trying to help diagnose.

When you say "car does not start" does that mean:

1. When you press the Start Button nothing happens? When you turn the start button, all the electrical light, dash board come up. I was checking through the battery level, and it was at 9.8v.
2. Pressing the Start Button causes the engine to crank but not catch? No Crank.

However, I took it to the dealership, and they were suggesting to changing the current battery (which are less than a month old) for a dealership battery. As the problem could be within the battery brand. So I return the batteries, and will now be purchasing the recommended battery for this engine. I am hoping this solves the issue. Will keep you updated.

9.8V, yikes!

So, that means either the battery has failed (unlikely after a month and unlikely even if it is an aftermarket battery) or that the charging system has either failed or is weak. You said the battery lasted a month, so it was getting charged at least to some degree, unless you weren't driving at all.

Voltage when the car is running should be between 13.7-14.7V and 12.6V at rest.

They key thing I got out of this is that you got the battery replaced then after a few weeks it stopped working.. to me that’s grounds to take it back and see if you got a bad battery even if the battery isn’t the problem the dealership is going to look into it and you’ll get an answer. This is your best route my opinion to getting this issue resolved.
