I think they are getting all kinds of heat from folks asking when... oh well there are other options out there. The Smittybilt Pivot also looks decent

That’s funny ...the jk one posted up. My first reaction was - why would they issue a tailgate reinforcement that is not compatible with their existing Alpha tire mount. JK explains it...

Bets on which emerges first...this or the mythical AEV rear bumper.

Rustys here I come.

@Bocephus I should have my jeep back with a rusty's on it tomorrow. I was packaged well, powder coat looked good, and it seems solid. My jeep's in for lift and 37s yesterday/today and should see how it works out tomorrow.
Send pics !!

@Bocephus Rusty’s is solid. I think it moves smoother than the stock hinge. I have the tire mounted a bit high - it’ll stay there until I figure out a rear bumper (still running plastic). Shop said the install was a bit of a headache but not terrible. He seems to like this better than the EVO hinge on his wife’s JL. I bought a new brake light mount to mount in front of the tire (easier to see for our blind drivers in MD).

Does the Rusty’s come with everything to keep the brake light and camera?

@DadJokes yes. The Rusty’s hinge comes with a brake light bracket that sits behind the tire and on the bottom. It also includes a mount and tube for the camera - the camera isn’t exposed to the elements like some of the other solutions. I’m running method 701s (8.5” wide 0 offset 4.75” backspace and the camera is catching the lower part of the wheel on the screen (I’ll grab a pic tomorrow if I remember) but not really limiting visibility. I didn’t like the brake light low and blocked by the wheel so I picked up an iron cross automotive bracket and cut off the camera mount to place it in front of the spare unblocked by anything.

We are currently working on our hinged tire carrier for the JL / JLU platform and are working for a release date for the 2020 SEMA show. However be sure to follow us on social media, as that is where we release all of our new product info first.

By hinged carrier, do you mean something that reinforces the gate and is attached to the hinges similar to what’s pictured in post #17 above (JK application) or a hinged swing out carrier that’s separate from the gate altogether?
