Consider that this "give me liberty or give me death" type talk might be better described as "give me liberty and give me death," in absence of regulations that "we the people" author, that motivate us all to reduce our fossil fuel usage and transition to other energy forms.
Yeah, but ... you know: Free-Dumb!

I hope I don't get sent down for that, but ... I just couldn't help myself.

Meanwhile, living way the hell and gone out in the sticks as I do, in a rural county that is redder than a liberal's bleeding heart, I see no real need for ESS (real men just don't use it; it's a political statement, you see), and so we disable it every time . OTOH, when we toodle up to Fort Carson, or - as infrequently as possible, to Denver and environs, we do use it (but we don't tell anyone). Because sitting there at those stop lights that take forever to change, just idling and not going anywhere, doesn't make a lot of sense to me. And if the AC is running full blast, like on these 105 degree days, well, it just stays on.

Now, I am going back to re-reading The Federalist Papers.
