I'd like to get an engine skid for my 3.6 auto. I caved in the oil pan of my TJ and would like to avoid doing that on this one. What options do we have and does anyone have any experience? I don't feel I need a fully belly skid, just would like add some protection around the oil pan and the exhaust loop.

It is expensive but I am going to go with this one and the matching transfer case one. I like the bolt head skids, too bad you have to buy them separately for the transfer case skid. They have less expensive steel ones also and they have them for both 18-20 as well as a 21-22 version that many others don’t offer yet.

Other skids I will be using when my JL comes in.

I've heard great things about the Asfir skid plate and it is in my list. The Evo also fits with some minor modification.

I ordered the aluminum engine/trans skid plate for my 2.0T from ASFIR (Israel). It arrived quickly, weighs 25.6 lbs total, is made from 1/4" smooth aluminum plate and was very reasonably priced compared to others. Installation coming soon.

I went with a full set of M.O.R.E. aluminum. I had to clearance the gas tank skid to make room for a bolt on my Rusty’s rear LCA to frame skid.
I havent bashed on them yet but they seem strong enough.

FYI: I had compatibility issues with the M.O.R.E. engine skid on my 2018 2.0. I believe this may have to do with the 2018 2-door's gas tank being 1 gallon larger than the 2019+.
Wait, we have an extra gallon? And they said to never buy the first model year! :CWL:

I went with the engine and transfer skids from TNT. It did take forever for them to show up but I don't have anything bad to say about them.

I went with aluminum to save weight but if the cost vs weight is worth it is up to you. After talking to them in person they do have some things not listed on their website as well.
I also have the aluminum skids from TNT. Have them on my 4 door JKUR too. They have held up very well. No complaints at all.

What options do we have and does anyone have any experience?
We are using a Mountain Off-Road Enterprises steel skid:

https://mountainoffroad.com/collect...ts/jlopsp-jeep-jl-oil-transmission-skid-plate

It was fairly easy to install and has worked very well for us.

It has a v-shaped baffle by the oil drain hole that is supposed to - is alleged to - keep oil from gushing back down the plate when you pull the oil plug. It does not work very well at all. Stick a Fumoto or other such draincock in there and it will work fine. I've got a picture of it - the Fumoto thing - up, I think on the 'What did you do TO ... section. Wait one ... yes. Here it is:

What dif and shock mount skids are those?
Diff skids are from Rancho (matching covers to be installed soon) and the shock mount/lca skids are Rock Hard - note if you plan to do their FAD skid too install before the LCA skid...trust me.
