Anyone else’s emergency brake handle off tilt? Seems weird.

It's normal for it to be at a somewhat offset angle.

Is that split down the middle on the plastic supposed to be that wide? Is it possible the handle got hit listing it to the left and widening that plastic seem? That would drive my ocd crazy.

That's the angle the parking brake handle is supposed to be. I'll have to check the plastic surround on mine to see if the gap is that wide though. Its something I've never noticed.

@FuriousEwok

By design. Normal on all JL/JLU's.

Without that "split down the middle" (the material is soft/flexible) how would the handle be able to be pulled to apply parking brake.

The pic above exaggerates the " split down the middle"

Does anyone’s emergency parking brake seem to have a bit of play in that it can be moved slightly left and right? I noticed that after I picked up my Sahara. Doesn’t impact the use of it but it just seemed odd to me. Should I have the dealer look at it or is that normal?

I noticed it on my JLU Sport last night too? It moves a little side-to-side, but it also moves up and down a little before engaging? I was wondering if everyone else notices this as well or if I need to visit the dealership? It appears to still work properly, but I've never had a brake do that before?

FWIW, my sport s has a little "slop" in the brake handle. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't sweat it. Seems like normal mechanical slack.

That was the first disappointment I've noticed in fit and finish on my new Jeep - the wobbly brake handle.
I am going to try tightening the cable to see if it firms up. Beyond that, I don't know.
