Hey peeps! So I pulled the trigger and bought a brand new 2024 JLUR in Anvil and I’m taking delivery tomorrow. Today I received an email along with my purchase documents that directed me to download the ELO tracking app for my Jeep…my question to you is, is this a factory installed device to work in conjunction or as an alternative to the Jeep app? Or is this a dealer add on, so that they can track my ride?

I did some research and it’s a subscription based tracking service for fleets or parents. Am I unknowingly paying this subscription or is it a trial thing like XM that goes away after a few months?

The dealership explained none of this….i wouldn’t even have known about it without the email, which was a separate email and not from the dealer, it looked auto generated from ELO.

(note: I was curious so I did download the app to see what all could be gleaned by using it and it instantly gave me the location of my Jeep still on the dealer lot.

I would most definitely bring that up when you pick up your new ride. Congrats on that!

If you financed your Jeep, it could be part of the agreement that they failed to mention and you didn’t see when you read the agreement before signing. Or, it may your insurance company requiring a tracking device to insure your Jeep. I’ve been hearing a lot more of the insurance requirement lately.

Yeah I’m feeling that maybe this is a Chrysler finance requirement? I could be wrong but it’s the first time I’ve used them to finance any of my jeeps…I haven’t even told my insurance company that I bought it yet lol.
