I saw this MotorWeek retro review on the '84 Caravan/Voyager. It brought back childhood memories as the earliest car I remember us having alongside my Dad's '67 F-100. What are the earliest vehicles other members can remember?

Earliest memory? Riding in the back of my dads mustang picking up my brother that was drunk at a party. On the way back my brother got sick out the window and it flew back in my face. Yea great memories! :puke:

Sliding around the back seat of my mothers huuuuge caddy. Eldorado maybe? No seatbelts of course.
Earliest driving memories are up my long street when my parents used to let me sit on their lap and steer :)

Sitting in passenger's seat of my dad's light-grey 1987 Lada 21063 (allowed to sit in the front seat while the car is parked and my dad is in store), listening to rain fall on the roof and windshield wipers work on intermittent.
First experience driving - steering while on my dad's lap, with him operating the pedals and shifter, driving down an unpaved road on outskirts of town. No power-steering!

My mom had a green Torino that probably wasn’t the best choice for Minnesota winter driving. I remember riding in the backseat and picking at the window seal :cwl:

My dad had a 1978 Ford F-150. I remember riding to Chaska, Mn and seeing water flooded over the road with whirlpools everywhere and it freaked me out. We went another way and arrived safely at my uncle’s house.

Side note: my dad ordered his truck and it was delayed to the point of almost canceling. His dealer gave the excuse that the trains were snowed in...worst excuse to tell my father who worked for the railroad. He told his dealer, “BS, I work for the railroad, get it here tomorrow or I’m canceling.” They had it there for him the next day.

Playing with the floor vent in my dad’s Duster. It was like a little trap door in the passenger foot well. When open, outside air wooshed in.

No seatbelt, of course... just a toddler crawling around on the floor of the front seat 2 door. :like:

Also remember scorching the back of my thighs on the vinyl seats of our AMC Hornet, and not being strong enough to roll down the windows

We did have mom’s arm that shot out in front of us when she slammed the brakes, though...

This would have been in the mid-sixties, I remember my grandmother picking me up in her 1962 Buick Invicta and getting stuck in the snow in our driveway. After a few tries she freed the car and we were on our way.

Dad drove a 1966 Chevy pickup. I rode in the open bed with a blanket to try to stay warm. I would huddle where the heat came up between the cab and bed.
Mom drove a green station wagon with fake wood paneling on the side. It had pop-up seats in the rear that sat sideways. I remember making faces at the people behind us at stop signs.
