NOTE... for purposes of this post, I'm NOT interested in politics, economics, or conspiracies.

My question: am I right in understanding that the Owner's Manual approves use of E15 as well as E10? Is there any evidence of damage to engines from its use? My jeep is a 2019 with the 3.6.

I've used E15 before to no ill effect. Maybe just a slight decrease in fuel economy, but not outside of my usual variance.

Ethanol is good for engines, bad for MPG.

As long the pump & lines are made to handle it, it's better for the motor to use ethanol.

Can't confirm regarding e15 by owners manual, but I've seen this discussion before and people have said to use it. I've never seen e15 gas in my area.

Modern vehicles are designed to handled it. It's when you get to e85 that vehicles start to need new pumps, injectors and lines. Both for the increase flow you need to run that fuel, and corrosion.

It wouldn't be bad if we were on 100% ethanol. Cooler running engines last longer, and its renewable, so it SHOULD be cheaper. They just have to figure out how to get ethanol from seaweed or something so our cropland isn't all GMO corn.

Again...all I want to know is if it's mechanically safe to burn in my engine. The economics and environmental aspects are things I can decide for myself.

My best answer is yes, but that is based on my JLU 3.6L being a '21. From the manual...

Up to 15% looks to be okay.

Can't tell you..shhh
I don't know about running it in a jeep because I have never had it in mine, but I do know that in my Tundra, which is a flex fuel capable engine, if I run anything higher than E-10 the thing runs like crap for about a month afterward. It also runs more sluggish on E-15 and E-85. YMMV.

And here's what I was able to find from a '19 owners manual. The answer still seems to be yes.

Yes. Perfectly safe for your engine per the manual, science, and personal experience. Reduces fuel mileage slightly.
