What’s everyone’s personal experience with E rated tires? Wondering if the much heavier and stiffer tires has any significant drawbacks on the street.

5K miles on 305/65 Mickey T MTZ3. Yea they're not as quiet as AT's but not loud. I think the ride is fine at 30-32 psi. Would rather have MT's that don't throw rocks like AT's. They also work just fine in the snow as long as they are not over inflated. This pressure worked fine on packed snow and ice last week. Also not a horrible ride but I know C rated would be softer. E rated will take more abuse off road. Had E rated on 2003 TJ also so maybe I'm use to it.

E rated tires, different treads, is all I've been using for the last 18 years--jeeps/trucks/4x4's--

I stopped using "C" rated tires in the 70's, when I sold BFG--the sidewall longevity is "NOT"-

E rated at 30/32 for jeep is just the easy way out for ride/stability/off-road traction(MT tread)

If your jeep is primary highway !!!--try 35/36 psi

I ran E rated Duratracs on my old JK and never had any issues.

I have BFG KO2’s 35x12.5R18 load range E tires and absolutely love them. I run 30 in the front and 28 in the rear. Had to install wheel spacers on it to keep the front tires from rubbing when I turned real sharp. For a Jeep, it doesn’t ride bad at all.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Just mounted E-rated Milestar Patagonias, running 40psi right now and on stock suspension ride is firmer but just fine IMO, not much time on them yet but the ride is definitely not going to be a problem. On a lifted JL w/ firmer springs the E-rated stiffness would probably be more of an issue.

My 315 KO2s are E-rated. I noticed the ride initially was a bit stiffer, but I’ve gotten used to it so this is just how my Jeep rides now.

Just bought new tires. It was a big decision for me since I just dont want to F up the way the stock rubi rides. Even on the trail without airing down the ride is crazy GREAT and I just didnt want to lose that. They are better then my aired down to 10psi 35's long arm suspended TJ and I though it was amazing. I dont know what jeep did or what kind of magic the C's have or both but pretty happy with it and didnt want to lose that.

I went with what the stock tire rating was, C. The rig was meant for 35's (315/70/17) so the look was expected but now for the ride on road and off.

On road, same maybe better. Power was somewhat tamed but the 33's had the motor almost too peppy so even that ended up good. I didnt re calibrate yet.

Now for off roading. Forest road but mostly rocky piles of nastiness. I've been on it before with the 33s and again I was completely amazed how it rode without airing down. The 35's were even better, hard to believe.

The C's might not be as tuff as the E rated tires, dunno. But I am willing to risk it.

I would be lying to you if I actually told you, cause I really don’t know. The dealership up here I believe got it from a dealership somewhere in Colorado. It’s suppose to be a 3 1/2 inch lift, but don’t know if that’s true or not. Really wish I knew!

Damn nice looking Jeep. Nice job.
It would be looking a lot nicer if it didn’t get $8500 in hail damage after only having it for 6 weeks. The complete passenger side and hood got beat up pretty bad. We took it up there in September and they did all the dentless repairs they could do. Then while it was up there we found out that the hood was on backorder from Jeep. The repair shop in Billings Mt just called last week and told us the hood was finally in. We’ll probably be able to get it back up for the final repairs in March.

Tried e-rated Duratracs on my JK before. Ride was a bit harsh on pavement.
