i need help guys. I have a JL rubicon without the steel bumper. Looking for ideas on how you mount a dune flag. Heading to an off-road Park tomorrow and the flag is required.

Thanks!

They make some holders that clamp on the front recovery hooks as well I think. I seem to remember seeing some for the jk

I found a fairly easy solution to this. The front bumper is held on by 4 bolts (16mm, if I remember correctly), 2 on each frame tube. I removed the outside passenger side one and mounted an L bracket.

As you can see the flag will bolt right into the far hole on the bracket. Of course it gets blocked by that plastic trim piece directly above it. If you're not into cutting holes in your Jeep, you can take off that piece with 6 reusable clips. I plan to use my flag a lot, so I cut a clearance hole in the plastic because I didn't like the gap that was there if the trim was missing.

I assume that plastic trim piece runs $50, but if you ever plan to upgrade your bumper (and I do), you won't need it anyway.

I just had it laying around. I'm sure you could pick something up similar from lowes.

I know they want you to mount in front. I have never had any problems with the rear mounting. I have the Mopar tailgate reinforcement kit, it has hole for the whip already in it.
