I need to redo my pod light connections and need some electrical advice lol

Theyre hooked up with the positive to the AUX cable and a negative to the inside of the engine bay held by a nut.

Do I need to disconnect my battery since the AUX buttons act as a relay? Can I just cut the wires as is, redo the connectors and then plug back in?

Tips welcome before I go kill myself

As long as the aux switch is off and remains off until the hot lead is reattached or taped up, no need to disconnect the battery.

I wouldn't consider most electrical questions as dumb if there's ever a potential for electric shock, I've been thrown (thankfully not held onto) by facility power and it is no fun.

Thanks! Just making sure. When I do house work I go to the box and shut off main power lololol

Bring in some nice studio lights and do my work, then go back and flip it on!

LoL somewhat kidding. I do that do for bigger stuff im not sure of.

Yeah, I've been both thrown and held. Neither one is fun. Fortunately, the held occasion was AC. I use to know a guy who was permanently put into a wheelchair after a higher power DC incident that caused him to fold at the waist so hard and fast that he broke his lower back and was paralyzed from the break down.
