From everyone's insane investigation of the Pentastar engine bay on the new JL, do you think dual batteries will be possible? Especially dual Odyssey 34-PC1500?

Probably will be able to. JK was pretty tight so we juggled things around too make 2 fit. Probably be the same for JL. May take a little while for kit too be made or maybe just a mount

So I chatted a bit with Shane from Genesis Off Road. They were are Jeep Safari Week and presented a prototype dual battery system for the JL. He said it is going to go to production soon. It will use group 25 dual batteries, which are available in an Odyssey. He stated the best way to learn more was to follow them on social media. In fact there is a video of the prototype on their Facebook page.

Here is a link to their website:

I posted pics of the upcoming Genesis kit prototype in another thread. As already mentioned it will be using group 25 instead of group 34 batteries. They have only slightly less capacity, but slightly more CCA. They are taller but skinnier, which will fit the engine bay much better.

Yeah, the current dual battery setup isn't very robust for operating many accessories without the engine running. It's there for making the ESS system work more smoothly. Different purpose altogether.

Except for extreme operations most of us won't do are dual batteries necessary given the 240 amp alternator (w/ tow package)?
Only needed if you want to run some important accessories without the engine running, and you want the peace of mind of always being able to start her up again in the middle of nowhere. Otherwise not necessary and the new stock system is better than what we used to have before already.
