Judging from many of the questions and responses I tend to think that the forum has lots of young people as members.
Who here knows how double clutch a transmission?
I certainly do at my age, but it's been a long time since I drove a vehicle that required it.

I can, they donā€™t need it, I do it anyway when skipping gears while downshifting.
And Iā€™m a millennial.

Cant find em grind em. The new transmissions have synchros so double clutching isnā€™t required. Most modern vehicles now, donā€™t even need to give it gas when letting the clutch out it does it for you.

I took the synchros out of my transmission during those clutch recalls, so I can rock double clutchā€¦ and shifting without pressing clutch because I donā€™t want them to caught on fire and explodingā€¦..

Had to learn to double clutch decades ago to drive big rigs, like riding a bike, I can but don't because I don't have to anymore.

The more appropriate skill for synchro'd manuals is heel and toe, learned that one running Porsches on the race track. Many modern high performance manuals rev match for you taking the fun out just like the synchros did for the crash boxes...

In my teens I learned how to double clutch, but simply didnā€™t do it because I was lazy. However, I had a fun time rev matching and not using the clutch at all (I must have learned this due to my laziness as well šŸ˜‚ ).

Whoever was the driver of my peterbilt before we bought it couldnā€™t double clutch properly. The clutch brake is burnt out, I guess he was pushing it to the floor while double clutching instead of only going half way.

Way back when one of my troopers taught me to drive his Army M54 5 ton truck, and I got the hang of it pretty fast... for being the LT and all. LOL. All in all, it was a fun job working with some great young guys.
