Haha yeah I am in Chicago as well but my Wrangler's seat broke a few weeks ago and its been in the shop since. Driving a Grand Cherokee the last few weeks has made me appreciate my own jeep just so much more. Can not wait to get it back!

That wind chill would give me pause. One accident (someone else’s fault of course) away from frostbite if you can’t run the heater. I think that’s right in the 30 minute exposure line.
I was snowmobiling all weekend in northern WI and it was almost that cold ambient.

This was the drive up there. Jeep didn’t miss a beat.

Growing up in northern Wisconsin we learned at a young age to always be prepared. We always had blankets, boots, mittens, snacks and sterno fuel in the car.

I feel you @S2k Chris , we’re experiencing unprecedented snow in central Texas and I had to go out in it to go help a local ranch take care of their horses. The jeep had no issues, of course. I took it really slow and cautious on the turns and didn’t speed and had no issues. I talked to a local lady who has lived here ~35 years and she said she’s never seen anything like this!

Of course, it’s relatively warm here. 18 degrees F, not -30, so I can’t complain!

Yea, commonly known as a "Get Home Pack". Don't forget first aid supplies and extra ammo.

Obligatory "4 wheel drive doesn't help you stop" post. Those images from that horrific highway wreck in Fort Worth last week should humble anyone. There was an FJ in that pile up that met a very tragic end. Can't imagine any occupants survived. Be careful out there.

It's the ice that worries me! Going down a hill and boom you are sliding everywhere - can't stop. You just can't stop properly on ice without the right equipment.

You also can't control what other do. On an icy day you can take a guess at where you will get hit, from the side, back, or maybe you slide into someone's bumper..
