Joined the club as well. Couldn't find a youtube video to correct this but I did get the 3/8ths Husky socket. Do i have to manually insert it into the gap on the railing until it triggers the release? If I leave the wrench head on the rails it kicks it out.

Does not always work but worth a try. Place it and move seat back and forth while pulling gently and intermittently on the recline pull.

Read through this whole thread!!!

Play with direction, pretty much have to stay in a groove , it takes 2-3 tries while pulling recline tab and neutralizing seat position :)

Help. 😫 my driver side seat is folded forward and will not unfold. I read through this entire thread. I didn’t find any broken plastic pieces but I also don’t see that piece in the track. The cable seems to be working fine. I only have a 1/4”x3” socket extension and that didn’t help. What do I do? Buy a 3/8” socket extension? Order the $5 plastic piece? Do I have a different problem?

2019 2 door no longer under warranty. Thanks!

Gotta find something to fit in the track like the picture of the socket extension 2 posts up. Then it should release.

Thanks @Rasdanko! thats genius! Dealer hasnt figured out what went wrong yet. The Jeep is now at the dealer :( probably by Monday.

These were the pieces that I found laying on the track this morning.

I’m having this same exact issue. I found these exact pieces under my seat. However this was what the dealership replied to me.

Are you still under warranty?

I am about 8 months into this process. Earlier this year they had my jeep in for 5 weeks waiting for those parts... then when they "fixed" it the seat folded forward but didn't roll back and forth. So it is now getting an entire new drivers seat (scheduled for Nov 9th).

Just go to another dealer and save yourself time arguing, it’s covered under main warranty 100% !! If you are outside your main warranty ( max care might not pay for it since seats are not in included list ) , just order this part yourself and install in 10 minutes :)

I am under Max care warranty. Goodness, you would think that they would check and make sure that it works correctly…that’s a long wait. I have kids to take to school, and have to be able to get to and from classes myself as well.

You can purchase the parts needed as mentioned above and easily install them yourself. I posted a step by step process with pictures previously. Save your money from the dealership labor, because they will only break again, buy a few spares and keep them in the jeep.

I’ve tried looking up the part, however I cannot find it. They call it “memory seat insert”…it doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t have memory seats, and when I look up memory seat inserts that part doesn’t show up. Just switches for memory seats…☹

Unfortunately if I take it out now since they’ve looked at it, I’ll end up having to pay more for them to not fix it than I would for them to fix it. It’s $160 to look at it if I don’t get anything fixed😒

So I got with a Jeep Care Specialist, his name is Michael, and he’s been able to help me throughout this process. He was able to get it approved for the parts and labor to be covered so I won’t have to pay out of pocket for my seat. This makes me happy, I do believe that’s how it should be anyway since it’s obviously an issue lots of people have had and it’s not our fault but the workmanship. Their ETA on when all of this should be done is a day, so hopefully I’ll be back to being able to get around by tomorrow so that I don’t have to miss any thing else and can get my family and myself where we need to be without any further issues or inconvenience! Thank y’all for yalls suggestions, I’ll definitely look into order backup parts so if this ever happens again I can fix it rather than having to sit around and go back and forth for help.

Ok, so you are dodging a bullet so to speak in regard to this Dealership Service Department..

My feeling is you are a gal and they took the liberty to feed you some crapola and to take full advantage of you...

That Service Dept. may do this to other's.... to guys also.... but again, they were going to screw you over... it's real obvious...

I suggest after this dealing with with that particular Dealership Service Department..... that you do your homework so to speak here on the forum before you fall into any Dealership Service Dept.. AND definitely, to find a different dealership to do business with.

Armed with some knowledge you will be less apt to be taken advantage of at a Jeep Dealership Service Dept..

I predict that your next issue with your JL will undoubtedly be battery related..... unless you have already had battery issues...
