Jeep Cares has indicated they have escalated my case, assigned a specialist and a case number. Will keep thread updated as to status.

Strongly suggest everyone interested to contact Jeep Cares directly here, request escalation, etc, keep the pressure on!!

Follow this thread closely and watch your warranty.

New part number is 68276603AH
Just checked the paperwork, and it looks like the part number on mine is 68276601AF. Is that the original part number, even older than the one in the TSB?

Same thing happened to me today. Drivers seat and same plastic pieces in the floorboard. I was able to get Jeep to dealership just as service Dept was closing. We’ll see what the evaluation/fix will be tomorrow.

Update. After explaining situation and their review of the stuck seat, the service team was convinced it was a broken latch on the top of seat (near seat belt). Ordered part, replaced, and it didn't solve issue. So they have now ordered a complete seat frame and will be replacing. They have had the Jeep since last Wednesday, we'll see when they complete the repair.

Exactly the same thing with me. I dont know what their obsession is with the broken latch. The first time I took it, they were convinced it was the issue. They pull the seat apart and broke it, and I am still dealing with their mediocrity. All it was the first time, was the little clips on this post.... But nah, they had to mess with the whole thing and break it.

To be safe, I was going to order those extra clips to keep on hand in case this happens again. On the MOPAR site, they are $4.95 each, but "currently out of stock".

3/8x3” socket bit. In line with the seat track. ‍

2020 they made the problem worse, the socket extension missed the clip and stuck inside, 50T socket to remove seat, see photos

I forgot to post an update here. My lower frames were replaced 2 weeks ago and guess what. Seats wont work still.... They ordered upper frames which should be here next week since they were backordered. This has been a monumental pita. I will never forget the seats that didnt work lol. Will try to get a lifetime warranty on them once they get fixed, which sounds like wishful thinking at the moment.

Add me to the club. 2020 JLR Recon 2-door. 3800 miles. Drivers side locked and shrapnel on the rear floorboard. Soooo dissapointing.

Update: 3/8 extension worked for me (I used a 6" then slid it out of the track). Holding recline fine to get it to the dealership today but looking at the passenger side it's only a matter of time. This design is garbage.

Since this is a reoccurring problem, how can we figure out a " better way " ? Owners have come up with real fixes for the faulty rear axle lockers, and even Sun Visor repairs, so this is something we should be able to remedy as well.
Suggestions, please !

Currently, I have just the black plastic pieces installed, without the metal piece and spring. I guess I was luckier than some that the plastic did not break when my metal piece became jammed. I popped the plastic back in the seat rail and haven't had an issue since. Only negative is the seat has to slide all the way back before releasing the seatback and I then have to slide it forward again once seated to get it back to my driving position. Same concept at the socket bit install I suppose. Not perfect, but the seat slides nicely and doesn't get hung up like it did with the metal pieces installed.

Update:

My seats have had lower frame replaced, all cables replaced, and upper frame replaced. This is the third dealer that tries to fix my seats, and they have gone through 3 iterations starting months ago.

Conclusion. Nobody can fix this fucking seats and I dont know what to do at this point. I believe the only solution FCA has is to replace my entire front seats with the seats of a brand new jeep. My jeep is under warranty and they need to fix this fucking issue. This is a breach of contract and I will have to take legal action.

@JeepCares I will file for breach of contract (warranty) if this issue isnt fixed mediately. I dont freaking care if you have to send an engineer from Michigan or to take seats from a new jeep and slap them on my Jeep. Enough is enough, it has been an entire year and 5 months, 3 dealers and numerous iterations.

update:

My seats got fixed yesterday. Working as originally intended. I received a call yesterday from JeepCares and immediately my seats got fixed today!.

Thanks @JeepCares team for the support. It was a long journey but I finally got my seats working as intended.

Glendale Dodge Chrysler Jeep at Glendale, California were able to solve the issue. So if you live in the L.A. area and you go through this problem I highly suggest you go to Glendale.
