I recently just found out that the early 2018s have the rear shaft hit the gas skid at droop. I was at the dealer for the knock in the rear 44, when they blamed the noise on drive shaft pointing out the contact. I'm getting a new shaft from a buddy that took off, but who else has had this contact enough to knock it off balance. It wobbles now, so I guess I have to re-position the gas skid.

I know this is old news to some, but can't hurt to have the info out there. 2:44 in this video shows the gas tank move.
Nice link ...

Never heard about this either.

Hopefully I will be satisfied with 35's on the stock suspension.

Although when I explained it to my wife she smiled and said "sure old man ... you can run 37's with a 2" lift and you're gonna settle for 35's stock? ... bwaaaa haaaa haaa"

:punch:

I will add this is more for the early 2018s. Apparently Jeep redesigned the tank skid bc of this, as it was even happening on the 2" mopar lifts.

I have a September build, this what mine looks like, if it helps. I don’t see any evidence of hitting and I’m on rk 3.5” lift so I’ve got a lot of shock travel. But I’m running 3” of bump so that might be saving.me.

After replacing the drive shaft I was able to move the tank to towards the frame. Hope this helps as it's not that much.

This fixed the slight vibration from the DS being out of balance, the knock is still there just as I suspected. It will be going back to the dealer with Jeep Support help this weekend. Fingers crossed they actually pull my diff cover to see the the issue.
