I have been thinking about running a drain hose from my Yeti cooler in the cargo area to one of the drain holes in the back seat floor, under the mats so it is unseen. I am always having to pull the cooler out to drain it and thought this might be a better way. I would install a twist valve at the cooler to open or close it (so it won't continuously drain unless I leave the valve opened). That way I could stop it from draining in undesirable areas, like a garage, etc... Any ideas on this setup? Pros or cons? Thanks

Where is your cooler located? there is also a drain hole in the trunk if that makes things easier...

Might think of incorporating a backflow preventer so nothing comes in that's wet from outside....?

I might surround the hose with a rubber grommet itself punched through a hole in the rubber oval floor grommet--and I migt buy some extra grommets.

Backflow of CO? Heat introduced through the drain tube? I don’t own a Yeti and will never buy one now for their idiocy in politicization, but shouldn’t it keep for like 4 days?

I bought this Yeti but will never buy another one. It does keep ice for about 1.5 days. Completely melted by then. Mine is one of the smaller ones and it sits in the Jeep all day with temps around 98+ so, I can't complain too much. I can get about as good of service from a much cheaper brand though. Not sure about the CO back flow or heat but don't think it will be a problem. Do you think it is a problem? If so, why? I need all of the pros and cons I can get before I do something that may end being a bad idea!!!!!

Part of the reason I will put a shut-off valve at the cooler. Plus it will allow me to keep the water from draining when the Jeep is in an area that I don't want water draining into, like a garage at night etc.

Wanted to drain at the back seat are so it was not draining out at my feet when I am at the back of the Jeep when I open the valve to drain it. Right now when I open the drain at the tailgate to empty the cooler I get splashed all over my pants as it is right there at my feet. FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS!!!!!
