I was just about to pull the trigger on a Superwinch EXP for my JLUR I have on order, but then I noticed the thing is 90 Lbs!

That got me wondering what adverse effects that may have in the suspension, and if I need to think about anything on a stock setup?

Is front end going to sag a lot?

Any input?

Hardly noticeable sag for the piece of mind. IMHO

I installed a Warn mount and Zeon winch. The extra weight (+110-125lbs) is noticeable. The front bumper dropped about 3/4" on the driver's side and about 1/2" on the passenger side for example.

I went with the lightest winch I could find. It turned out to be the Smittybilt XRC9500 with synthetic line. It came in at 46lbs, and that might have been the shipping weight. It is a great winch, too, with magnetic end on the remote that really comes in handy.

Thanks everyone, I'm considering either the Warn Zeon 10s or the Superwinch 10 EXP. They seem to run about 75 lbs give or take.

Warn Zeon 10-S installed on mine. Initially I noticed a difference in the front end, but now I can’t really tell.

The Quadratec Q-Performance Stealth 12000lb steel cable winch I have weighs in at 85lbs and is IP 67 rated waterproof/submersible up to 3ft for 30 minutes. It also has a wired/wireless remote and a LED light on the drum. The clutch handle is removable to prevent the Eddie Haskell types from messing with it and if you lose the handle, they got that covered too. At $550 I'd call that a deal. So which winch would you want to winch with? Punny.

Run your front tires 3 psi higher than rears or vice versa.

90 lbs is nothing. Most people weigh more so I highly don't a 90lbs wench will make you front end sag.

My Warn 10s platinum Made the steel bumper on my Rubicon drop a half inch! Of course that’s including the winch plate also.
