Seems logical that a Rubicon would do even better with 4:10’s unless extra weight negates the gear advantage.

Oh come on now, are you really worried that your Jeep Wrangler won't have enough power to merge onto the freeway?

Best,
-Tim
You never drove my old YJ. Putting aside the fact that it couldn’t actually reach freeway speed, it was glacially slow because:
-3.07 gears
-35” tires
-couldn’t use 1st gear, had to launch in 2nd gear
-vacuum-leaking, valve cover leaking, wheezy old 4.0L that definitely wasn’t putting out the advertised HP and torque numbers

Now it’s true, these new jeeps are all plenty fast and feel like a rocket ship in comparison!

Can you imagine us 2.5L YJ owners and the bliss we felt reaching 55 mph (downhill, with the wind, no passengers). I still miss my Rio Grande!

My brand new 2.5L YJ couldn't pull hills without the occasional downshift...even when I had a running start, so to speak.

Yes, in comparison, my 2.0T JLU is comically fast. It's much less tippy feeling than the YJ in turns, too, although I acclimated to that sensation pretty quickly. It was fun to startle passengers who weren't familiar with it. :LOL:

Pre-Pentastar I owned three JKs equipped with the minivan motor (3.8 liter) and the 4-speed automatic.
Nuff said.

Or...even Porsche 911s. Wait a minute, they've won the Paris->Dakar twice.
