I have seen the thread about the axle side drag link bushing/ connection making noise which I have as well.

But does anyone’s drag link where it connects to the pitman arm bang around too? I think the bushing is toast. Very noticeable when I move the wheel back and fourth too.

I can move it by hand too

I checked the torque. It is to spec.

In the past, up and down play (not rotational) along with audible noise has been indicative of something wrong with the ball joint end. I'm not a certified mechanic, however. This is simply my understanding. This is absolutely not something I can do on my JK.

The top bushing? Can you hear it when you turn the wheel back and fourth?
No, not that I know. I will have to check tomorrow night. I am up north and the Jeep is at home.

Ohh ok. Yeah if you roll down the window and move the wheel back and fourth quickly you’d hear it.

I will tell you that i checked all my front end torques and my pitman arm, draglink, balljoints, tie rod were all loser than the spec they called for. After tightening everything to spec its a huge difference in handling. Getting steersmarts stuff would be a huge improvment in stiffness.

Where did you get all the torque specs?
