I get quite a bit of messages requesting info about my Jeep. The axle swap being the biggest. I decided to put all the info in one place to help people out.

First.... I'm Andy. I've been in the Jeep game for awhile. I've always documented everything I've done and put it online for others. I've had an amazing life revolving around helping others when I can. I met my wife because of death wobble on a TJ. Most of my friends are Jeep people. We've gone on some great adventures and our fun revolves around those adventures.

If you have questions you feel I can help with I'm available any way you prefer. :)

So... The JL. I didn't really anticipate purchasing it. I built a well known TJ years ago and decided we wanted something more roomy to take our dogs. Anya wanted something more highway friendly than her 14 JK Rubicon. I felt it was the perfect opportunity to build up the JK while getting her into a Grand Cherokee.

We went to the dealership and left with a GC and my JL.

2018 Rubicon in Granite.

6 months or so later we decided Kansas sucks so we uprooted everything and moved to Colorado.

And then when the build started. I started picking up parts so we had very little down time. My TJ was a 7 year build and completely stupid. I didn't want to do that again. Picked up all new bumpers. Picked up some 40" Toyo Open Country MT's and put in an order for a one off set of wheels.

What you'll see is a nice set of Dynatrac axles that are 72.5" wide. Eaton ELockers. 5.38's. Bolt in ready... or so I thought. Most of the brackets were BS. The rear track bar bracket was missing. So I got to do a whole bunch of fab myself when I didn't really want to.

Once we got the brackets fixed up we got to work on swapping axles. Pulled the front axle first. In one day we had the front axle swapped in and all the steering ready to go.

After the front was in place we moved the Jeep around and started on the back.

We pulled the rear axle and mocked up the rear axle so we could tack the rear track bar bracket in place.

The suspension setup I'm running is a full kit from Rock Krawler. The pics posted here are 2.5" coils. What I found out with 2.5" coils on 72.5" wide axles and 10" wide wheels is the tires rubbed the stock flares when turning. It was bad. So we ditched the front flares with no real idea what to do next.

After a month or so the PSC rear tire carrier came off back order. So I finally got to toss the spare up in place. This is the full PSC bumper and carrier. So far I am really happy with it. Zero rattles even holding my stupid heavy wheel and tire combo.

After ditching the stock flares we put a call in to Rob at Nemesis Industries and the results are fantastic. You can tell the people there care about what they build. Plus they are around an hour away so we got to pick them up and see the shop. :)
