I went to take the doors off of my Jeep this morning and I usually tuck the wiring harness into the door pocket. This time I forgot and accidentally put the door down on the electrical connector and broke it. Does anybody know if Jeep sells just the connector or if you have to buy the entire harness. I know how to pin the connector if I can just find the part.

Apparently you can only buy the entire harness as a part 68299331AF. Not overly expensive, but a $40 lesson to take my time removing the doors.

almost had this happen when I put my doors back on the other day, was wondering how many people this has happened too and curious about fixing it.

thanks for sharing

Mine is the Sport, and apparently it only signals that the door is closed and lights a little LED on the interior door handle. I could totally live without each function, but I want my Jeep right so I got the part on order.

Ugh, I'll never make this mistake again! The harness came in and you have to take the entire door apart to replace it. 3 trips to HD for stuff, I can't believe I didn't have any wedges to keep the window up. :-(

Lesson Learned: always put the harness connector in the pocket before removing the door.

Edit: Hindsight being 20/20 I'd replace it with a 5+ pin marine connector next time. Given that my Jeep is a 2021, I wanted to keep it "proper".

I see this thread is pretty old, but I haven't found this answered anywhere else. I broke the white "handle" on the jeep side of the wiring harness. Painful design to be made of fragile plastic unfortunately. Does anyone know if I can buy just that part somewhere?

Thanks.

I looked long and hard for the connector or parts, but it appears you have to replace the entire wiring harness to get it back to factory. If the connector doesn't have a part number on it, that means it isn't available anywhere. Next time I'm just going to get a standard waterproof connector and replace with something more "standard".

Thanks AlgUSF... what a nuisance. Maybe I'll find some smart kid who can print one!

Stay safe.

Just run without it. If you take your doors off often, you'll appreciate not having to mess with it anyway. Just be very careful when seating the connector to make sure you don't bend pins.

The same thing happened to me today. I shut the door and smashed the connect. I have a bare bones Jeep all manual doors and windows. Is that connector worth replacing?

There is a little light in the door handle and I believe it tells the computer if the doors are installed or not for turning on the overhead lighting, door ajar light and such. I DIYed so it was worth it to me as my Jeep was new. If my Jeep was outside warranty, id have replaced it with a different connector.
