I try.
If I passed you in NC to NJ or PA to NJ over the past 3 weeks I was just sweating bullets worrying about my leaking spare camper tire or hauling it through the PA mountains.
I know I missed a couple looking in the side mirrors to make sure the trailer was still back there.

I just got back into a wrangler after about a 12 year break, and in the past 2 weeks I've probably waved at 40-50 jeeps and had maybe 4 wave back. When I had my TJ literally everyone waved. Is that not a thing anymore? None of the people with a dash full of ducks has waved, I just get this weird vacant eyed stare like "Why are you waving at me?"
Honestly I feel like it's a bit of a membership club. If you've been a member for a while, you get more waves. I have noticed living in Anna Texas for a minute now, when I first moved here like one or two people would wave at me, but maybe just because people see my Jeep so much now, I get a lot more waves than I used to. Probably helps that my Jeep stands out so much.

I've also noticed, ever since I devolved my Jeep into a JK...

... I get more waves.

I think when people see it JK, they are more likely to wave? 🤷‍♂️

Honestly 3 years in now, I wave at some people and other people I don't bother waving at. I'm usually pretty good about figuring out who's going to wave, and who's not. A lot of times I just wave because why not, and if they don't wave back, so be it. A lot of times I do throw in the Dixie horn as well, that way even if they don't wave, they're basically forced to look at me! :giggle:

Honestly I equate it to people who are Jeep fans, and off-roaders, versus the people who don't wave are fair weather fans (after a sense), and their Wrangler is just a stepping stone to their next vehicle, either that or a lot of times I get the feeling that the person driving the vehicle isn't the person who bought the vehicle. There's one guy who lives on the other side of White Street from me, I see his Jeep all the time, sometimes the dad is driving it, and he waves at me every time, and the other times his kid is driving it, and the kid doesn't even know what a Jeep Wave is it seems.

My other thought is, this being the DFW area, there's probably a lot of cowboys fans around here, and they're probably so butt hurt that their team is so terrible, that they just drive around and live life with their head in a hole. Acknowledging anyone, in their mind, is probably a sign of added defeat. :CWL::LOL:

For me here in CT, it almost always happens. Probably somewhere around 80% of the time

I don't think everyone knows about waving.... and I can definitely say there are times I didn't notice the other jeep until it was already passing by.

When I do notice, I do wave but there are times I'm preoccupied. Can only imagine how tired of waving I would get being up in Utah and such.

Tell me about it. It’s like every other vehicle around here. Majority of them have angry face grills driven by teenieboppers.

I should probably just get one of these installed.

I see alot of young folks in my area driving Jeeps. And they are clueless they don't understand or know the meaning. They told mom/dad i want a Jeep because Mary Ann rotten crouch got one so I have to have one too so i look cool too.

There are a ton of Jeeps where I live. They are so common that one day at a 4 way intersection, there were 4 of us all stopped. We waved but I think they were thinking what I was, “That’s a bit too many Jeeps at 7 am on a Wednesday.”

When I drive my 68 VW Bus, it’s non stop honking a people giving me the peace sign. Even Jeep drivers.

I don't see much waving when near the more popular places (e.g. Moab, Ouray, etc.). I'm thinking it's due to having so many rentals on the road.

I've seen a few angry-eyed Jeeps around my area lately, and the drivers don't wave. My go to is V for Victory like the old days, which most people interpret as the peace sign these days.

I guess that tracks?
