Does anyone know if the JL uses the same clips as the JK to mount the rear fender flares? If there are any pictures around of a removed rear flare I would appreciate seeing it.

I don't have an answer for you but wanted to bump this thread.

I am trying to take my fender flares off so that I can wrap my JL. I can't figure out how to do it. I searched for videos but there don't appear to be any videos removing JL fender flares. If anyone has any advice on removing fender flares please let me know.

Yes it does. Half of my bumper was ripped off on the 4th so heres the picture. I went to the dealership and they wanted $6.50 per clip. on Amazon you can get 20 for the same price. I bought 2 and reused the ones I could. Its back to normal again.

Does anyone know how I can get access to replace one clip that seems to be missing from my rear flare? There’s a small gap and I can see a hole in the body right at the top of my passenger rear flare. I don’t want to have to cut all the plastic rivets to get the liner out so I can replace the one clip.

Try this?
He says in his video you can’t buy just the clips?! I thought they are same as JK? Seems like still a lot of work to replace the one missing clip. Maybe I’ll bring it to dealer and see if they will warranty it before I try to remove the flare. Lol. Jeep is so new, hate having to start taking stuff off it.

So reviving a dead thread here. Picked up some JK fender clips from amazon and they are not the same. Close. But different enough that they don’t work.

The throat/pin on the OEM clips is narrower than the replacement, so the clip can’t slide onto the fender.

Now perhaps this is because they aren’t genuine parts, and this variance from OEM worked on the JK but doesn’t on the JL - or there’s a small difference in OEM clips. Can’t say for certain.

Hey thanks! I hadn’t started looking for them again yet so I appreciate you tossing that my way. Saves me a bunch of effort.

Perfect.. between this and the video that skrubi12 posted, I'm ready to pull a flare off (and have some spares clips standing by) so I can get easier access to the firewall to run some wiring. Thanks guys!

This weekend I used a tree on a tight trail to remove my passenger rear flare.
