Does anyone know if knuckles off of a JT will fit on a JLU Rubicon axle? I think that they are cast and would be stronger than the aluminum knuckles .

Yes they fit, it's one of the included upgrade parts on the diesel, 392, and xr packages. That being said, I've yet to see a single example of an aluminum knuckle failure. Even some of the guys beating their Jeeps hard enough to snap the axle in half at the FAD still had aluminum knuckles that were intact. Seems like an unnecessary upgrade to me.

Broken ball joint wallowed out aluminium knuckle on mine. Crazy. Running Reid now.
It was between the Mopar forged knuckles or the Reid’s. Reids were easier and cheaper to get. I left them orange or just rattle can them.

That isn't a failure, and the guy even posted he could have done that hammering the knuckle off. I have no doubt the steel knuckles are stronger, but I don't see the aluminum knuckles as needing upgraded. We just upgraded to HD ball joints after 40k miles with lots of wheeling. There was 0 signs of any wear on the knuckles.
Respect your opinion, and that’s great they’re working out for you. But I’ve seen these aluminum knuckles wollow out, and that is a failure. IMO there are some things that work out great using aluminum, knuckles ain’t one of them. My personal opinion based on what I’ve worked on, and seen, besides heard about.

I'll keep an eye on it, with as loose as the lower passenger nut was for ~20k miles before I decided to retorque everything when installing the new drag link, I'm amazed it wasn't more of a problem. I could literally spin the nut with my fingers.

Well, count me as one of the examples where the aluminum wallowed out. Happened on my passenger side tie rod attach point.

I guess I will get Reid. What size tire were you running?

The majority of users will never have a problem with aluminum knuckles. Hard wheeling is where the benefit will be.

A couple of things:

Mopar knuckles are drilled and tapped for steering stops and Reid's are not.

Reid's are orange and Mopar's are black.

I bought the Reid's and sold them and installed Mopar's instead.

The JT and Mojave cast iron knuckles will fit the JLUR.
