So, much like this: Cheap cooler lid insulation?
It seems to me that the panels are hollow and would benefit from something like spray-in insulation. I live in SW FL and it's already 87+ daily with a very strong sun. some days the interior smells a lot like fiberglass resin it is so dang hot.
Anyone already do this? or has it been tried and found to be negligible?
Thanks.

I installed a cover king headliner and put insulation down. I’m in Arizona. Haven’t had a summer yet since I got it but definitely cuts down in heat and road noise.

I've considered that route, but I am also concerned that the glue won't hold.

I’ve looked into this a few times and saw a few different forum members who dealt with AZ and TX heat with no issues with the adhesives.

I do wonder about filling the interior of the panels with a insulation though.

Dead air space (if the panels are truly hollow) is a decent insulator since it doesn't conduct heat very well. However, I'd bet they're already filled with some sort of foam or something, aren't they? Hothead headliners are already designed for this.

Now if you're just talking about a DIY solution, then forgive my posting here.

There is no foam inside the hollow aeras. My concern would be the expansion of the foam, and if it would cause bulges on the outside of the panels. You would have to drill several relief holes if you did use expanding foam, and that would look ugly. Doubt that there would be much gain from that either.

The better option would be to have it painted a matte white. It's an option that Jeep should offer.

I'm in Arizona and it's 103F today. I have HotHead liners and other than making the jeep more cosmetically prettier I'm not sure in Arizona it will make much difference in the summer when it reaches 117f to 120f.

That's another option I have considered. Using something like plasti-dip so it's removable.

Worth a try. You could do the part above the drip rails to start.

Good ceramic tint all around helps a ton. My JLUR has hothead and Xpel XR+ full ceramic and it stays pretty cool.
