Does a roof mounted lightbar and/or A-pillar (side) lights prevent you from dropping the windshield?

As someone who loves photography, the ability to lower the front windshield and strap it down would allow for a better in the wild photography experience. I can see lowering the windshield on many adventures, which will all be at lower speeds. Having said that I view my Jeep as a 5 seat motorcycle in a sense due to the fact that with the doors and roof off and windshield down it is a very similar experience.
I could see how that would make some cool cinematography for sure.

I was told that adding a lightbar above the windshield and/or adding a couple of lights on the side of the windshield prevents you from being able to drop the windshield? Is this true? Is it so for all brands/styles?
Baz: I've linked a video on taking the windshield at a point where it is down so you can see "what's going down," (literally and figuratively) if you're unsure.
