Do you prefer a black or body coloured hardtop?

I ordered a JLU Sahara last month and eagerly waiting for it....

I chose bright white with a black hardtop (also getting the soft top).

I especially like the contrast between the black and white.

It seems like the majority of JL’s I see on the road and at the dealer have the matching top...wondering what others think...??

Thanks

I knew I was going to get a roof rack system where I would be drilling into the top and that I would be taking things on and off the cargo rack of the Jeep depending on the type of trip I’m taking. So black was the right choice for me. But I like the look of the body colored top over the black top.

depends on the body color. For example, I love HellaYella with a black top but not with colored top

First thing to scuff if you do any off roading is the fender flares and top. Low hanging branches and narrow trails with scrub brush. No point in having them painted.

I think they look horrible with the body-matched hardtops. The reason you see so many at the dealers/on the road is that the dealerships order them with body-matched because they are more expensive and they charge a markup.

Why get a body-matched if you are just going to take it off in the summer? I use my summer top and the hardtop is only on during the cold season.

I definitely like the black top and black fenders. Besides having less paint exposed to branches and such, it makes the body color pop because of the contrast. If a black top and fender were upgrades I would have paid to have them. Nice that they are standard on most trims.

Depends on the body color. Some tops look really good in certain colors. Other colors seem to go well with the contrasting black.
