There are two separate gear settings on the dash. I also have the D1, D2, Ext set. The other setting has the option of single or full.I don’t have the manual in front of me, but that could be the terminology they use on the for the automatics. In those, you have a choice of the dash indicator saying only drive, or drive and what gear you are currently using. So it would say D1, D2, and so on.
That’s the setting I use. Drive plus which gear.
Thanks. Couldn’t find anything in the big manual. If you do, let me know the page.I haven’t played with those settings in about a year.
If someone else doesn’t chime in, you might just check the big owners manual, not the users guide. The actual owners manual is online through the Jeep owners site, printed copy by request from Jeep Chat, or it’s in the infotainment system if you have the 8.4 inch
Not sure about sport. If so it’s in the settings you access with the steering wheel buttons.I’m confused. Mine just shows I’m in drive. I occasionally shift to manual to see what gear I’m in.
Can I set my display up to show D7, D5, D8, etcetera?
Base level Sport.
Thanks, Bill. I’ll fool with it some more. Not sure about sport. If so it’s in the settings you access with the steering wheel buttons.

On my 2018 JL, I have it set so I see the gear, it shows up as a very small number after the "D".Do you have your gear display set for single or full? What's the difference?
On pages 199-200 of my 2019 owners manual under:Do you have your gear display set for single or full? What's the difference?
